Being the seventh largest state of India, Karnataka also has a good literacy rate compared to other states (excluding Kerala). As per 2011 report, the literacy rate of Karnataka was 75.60%. Beside this Karnataka is the home of some premier educational and research institutions of India such as the Indian Institute of Science, the Indian Institute of Management, the National Institute of Technology Karnataka and the National Law School of India University.

Online post matric scholarship distribution through online service called ePass has been the recent and most prolific step for helping students who lack financial support. The type of scholarship includes the covering of school fees and the other type which includes the payment of daily expenses of the student.
Before going to apply for this scholarship, the applicant must know whether he or she is eligible for applying or not. Students who study in the same state colleges or universities are eligible for applying for the scholarship. Eligible students need to follow some simple instruction to fill the ePass scholarship application. The application has been divided into two different categories. One application form is for the students who are applying for the first time (fresher) and the other form is for applicants who are applying for renewal. In case of renewal, the process is very easy as compared to fresher.
· Once the applicant has entered the official website he needs to click on the menu apply online on the left side.
· There the applicant can see various scheme FAS –PMS- FCS. Select Post-matric Scholarship.
· Then enter SSLC Hall Ticket Number
· Enter the Year of Pass
· Enter the Academic Year
· Enter your Date of Birth
· After entering all the details, the student needs to click on Submit box.
After submitting the form online, there are few documents required for application which are needed to be submitted along with the form. Required Documents for ePass Scholarship Karnataka are as follows:

- · Aadhar Card
- · Income proof certificate
- · Caste Certificate
- · Ration Card
- · Bank account in the name of student
Bank details are required because if the applicant is selected for the scholarship the scholarship amount is transferred to his account.
Once the application is submitted the applicant can have a look at the status of his or her application by visiting the official website provided.
In case, if the applicant has made any mistake while filling the application form, the applicant needs not to worry as they can edit their submitted file by visiting the official portal. But the option of edit will not appear after submission of your application. The edit option for correction process of your mistake will appear once all the application has been received from the state. So the applicants have to wait. Once the option is available just open it and make the corrections you need to make and submit your form again.
After receiving of applications, it takes a while for further verification and after that the scholarship is transferred to the applicants account.
